I want to let you all know that Region 20 has Nick Martin's 10-hour Collaborating in the IEP Process on-line course available for registration in our online catalogue ( http://portal.esc20.net/portal/page/portal/esc20public/workshop ). CEUs from ESC 20.
 
His three parent modules are available in both English and Spanish and are free for the public on Region 20’s website:  http://portal.esc20.net/portal/page/portal/esc20public

Presents an overview of the ten challenges commonly associated with raising a child with a disability. This topic is the subject of Nick's book by the same name, published by Future Horizons in 2004 and also available in Spanish.

Provides the skills so very necessary for managing such challenging emotions as fear, grief, anger, and many more. This program presents three specific and proven techniques that can be of great practical value in many aspects of everyday life.

TOPAA Meetings in February

TOPAA is offering 2 workshops in February during the evening. February 11, 2010 - ARD/IEP Open Clinic at Sertinos Cafe and February 25, 2010 - Positive Behavior Intervention at Praise Christian Center in Beaumont.
 
Come get prepared and learn about you child's special education needs. The IEP (Individual Education Plan)  is the most important document that you child's has that will help to ensure that they will be able to be successful.
